Does the start of the New Year inspire you to try something new, commit to prioritizing that dormant passion or meet new people and expand your community?
If you answered yes to any of the above - then you're in great company and we've got great news - there's a wonderful community event coming up this month, with over 50 ways to plug in right here in Lancaster City! It's called the Stuff To Do Fair - happening Sat. January 31st at Washington Elementary School (a short walk from the neighborhood; or they also have ample parking (for cars and bikes) and are along bus route #1) from 10AM - 1PM. There will be organizations and clubs that range from totally free to having a cost, and in all kinds of interests - from book clubs to dance classes to sports to volunteering to nature to technology and beyond. You’ll also be able to try live demonstrations of dancing, acting, poetry, and more!
The Stuff To Do Fair is primarily geared towards adults, but children are welcome to attend! The building is also ADA accessible and this event is completely FREE!
Our organization will be there sharing about our current resident-led projects that you can join this year! So far we have an on-going Yarn Mural that you can add your own crocheted or knitted designs to, we are starting a neighborhood walking club as well as a free community education garden. We also have short-term and long-term volunteer opportunities and monthly community events you can help with! And if none of that strikes your fancy, we would LOVE to help you start your own idea/project/group here in the neighborhood or even as localized as just for your block! We provide one-on-one coaching and support, resources, supplies, connections, and even up to $500 in funding!
Stop by our table to learn more or email Jacquie Morges, at Jacquie@WeAreTenfold.org, to setup an appointment! We're here to help your dreams happen right where you live!
