Apply for Resident Leadership

Thank you for your interest in joining with us to strengthen, connect and improve our community!      Please read through and fill out the following proposal to be considered for a SoWe grant and/or receive additional organizational support.  We’re excited to learn about your idea – which can be an event, project/initiative, or club!

Project Requirements
  • You must be a SoWe resident OR your proposal must be hosted in the neighborhood OR for the neighborhood
  • Your proposal must impact SoWe neighbors and/or the neighborhood.
  • You are expected to take multiple pictures of your project (people participating, key moments, finished product, before/after) for SoWe to share in an upcoming newsletter and/or social media post
  • After the event/project, you must meet with a SoWe staff or Resident Leadership Committee member to debrief your event/project.
  • After the event/project, you are expected to submit a 1-2 paragraph write up of your project/event that can be shared on social media: including a quote from either you or an attender and some pictures  
  • (Optional) To celebrate your event/project’s success, we would love for you to attend an upcoming Resident Leadership Committee meeting or board meeting to share about what you did for the neighborhood!
Timeline

Grants will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The review committee that approves grants meets monthly – so your grant will be considered at the next upcoming committee meeting.

Funding Details

If you submit your application/meet with a SoWe staff 60 days in advance or more, applicants are eligible for grants up to $500 and event support (including marketing, volunteer recruitment, supplies, and post-event debrief). If you submit your grant less than 60 days in advance, the maximum funding is $250 and only post-event debrief support. Funding could come before or after the project, depending on how far in advance the application is submitted.

The processing time for applications can vary based on the volume of requests. Typically, you can expect to hear back within a week. We strive to respond as quickly as possible to meet your needs.
